Shock and Jawa was founded on February 7, 2012 on the Mask of Nihilus server. We survived voluntary transfer to Drooga's Pleasure Barge, spent five years on The Harbinger, and now reside on Satele Shan.

We are a PvE based, semi-casual guild. We accept all classes and levels, and beginners and other noobs are always welcome. (No one could ever be as big of a noob as I was...and continue to be.)

I say "semi-casual" because we have to grown enough to include scheduled Ops, Ops teams, social events, and other guild activities. But we're still casual in that participation in these things is not required. Just log in and play at least once a month and you'll stay active.

If you just want to log in and mess around with your characters and hang out with people you know, we're good with that. If you want to PvP, feel free. And feel free to ask if anyone wants to join you. It just isn't our primary focus.

We provide the website as a source of information, and a means to communicate with each other. We also provide voice chat. I say "we" because guildies help pay for it, something I truly appreciate. :)

Shock and Jawa is a mature guild, even though we accept people as young as 16, we don't put up with drama or other immature behavior. The first time I kicked a person for being a jerk I felt bad... I got over that.  So don't push your luck, all officers (Scrappers) have the ability to remove members from the guild.

We try to maintain a pleasant environment, so we don't allow offensive subjects or excessive profanity in guild chat or Mumble.

Offensive subjects include, but are not limited to: politics, religion, sex, bathroom habits, etc. We are a diverse group, so bigotry of any kind is not tolerated.

If you're selling things in game, don't do it in guild chat, take it to whispers. No one else needs to know your business!

You really have to like food, especially desserts, to enjoy guild chat. If you want to tell us your age, gender, location, family status, employment history, etc, feel free! But don't ask others for their personal information.

The guild is not a dating service! Hitting on the GM is not only unnecessary, it's a little creepy.   If you want to have a personal relationship with a guildie, keep it private!  Drama is not welcome.

Guild events are scheduled for Pacific Time. PST in the winter, PDT in the summer. (Currently, times will be in PDT until November 3, 2019.) You are responsible for knowing what time zone you live in! Really, it's something you need to know anyway.

If one of your group members fouls up, suck it up and move on. It's good to help people, but ragging and nagging aren't the way to do it. So be nice!

The guild bank is there to help guildies. Items there are for you to use, and by "you" I mean your character... not your companion, not your alt that's not in the guild, not your friend's toon, or your grandma's toon... Taking items from the guild bank and selling them will get you kicked faster than walking behind a donkey...

If you don't log in and play for 30 days, you may be marked as "inactive" and removed from the guild after 90 days. If you're going to be gone longer than 30 days, let an officer know about it and we'll leave a light on for you. If you can't log into the game, leave a message here.

We love alts! Bring them along. We love your Imperial alts, too. It's fun to be eeebil and kill things, so bring them into Full Metal Jawa.

To register:

You must have an account with Guild Launch before you can register with the guild.  (You may already have a Guild Launch account from other games and/or guilds.)

Then you click on the "Register with the Guild" link on the home page, under "Membership".  

You must be invited in game to become a member, and you must be online to get the invitation.

You won't be given member access here until you've joined in game.

Chat standards apply to character names, too.  

If your name refers to offensive subjects like those mentioned above, or if you're trying to be cute to skirt the profanity filter, your application will be declined.

To find us in game:

Open your "Who" window.  Type in "Shock" and click search.

When the list comes up, use the drop down in the right column to select "Guild".

For the Imperial guild, search on "Metal".

If you search either side for "Jawa" you'll be there for hours...

We are still around in 2023, though we aren't running many activities these days. New members are always welcome, but at this moment in time, we don't have the numbers to consistently provide the fun group experiences folks are usually looking for.

 

On the plus side, we've still got friendly members, experience and reputation boosts, plenty of credits for gear repair allowances, a flagship to support you, and, as always, the drama- & bigot-free environment that's at the core of our identity!
